Savard Speakers

I know my reply is late but my experience is a bit different from those commenting below. I grew up in Baton Rouge where the founder, Bill Savard, started his operation. Mine were the 12th pair he made and back then they were hand made and took him almost 3 months to complete. So I guess he didn't simply throw garbage components together as suggested in this thread. I ordered them in November of 1973 and they were ready in Febuary of 1974. They were the smallest model in a line of 4 and I was so proud of them and happy with the sound. Today when I listen to them they still cook! Yes I still have them, hooked up to a Carver system, and the salesman who sold me the Carver quit trying to sell me a $4,500 pair of B&W since he thought the Savards sounded better. I would never think of selling them and if I upgrade my system again I'll simply hook the Savards up to them and continue to enjoy the sound.

David the OP only came here to pretty much find the value of his Savard speakers and hasn't posted here since.This board is for Altec Lansing enthusiasts period.Not to bash Savard speakers or any other.Having said that, most Folk's here think they are Garbage ! This is a forum so you have to respect other peoples opinions.As I said this is a Altec Board Period ! I suspect you only registered to post in this thread, that is now closed and I may delete it permanently ! If you would like to talk about Altec "Welcome to the Board"
